Currently working for a legal organization in Toronto, Joanna worked for many years in the high-tech industry. Joanna came from a management background where she evaluated and improved the efficiency of e-commerce and CRM systems. She also managed customer relationships and increased renewals of software tools at an open-source software company in Vancouver. Joanna holds a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from McMaster University.

Though a Canadian, Scott is currently a Counselor at an International School and a Community Service and Experiential Education Program Coordinator in Thailand. Prior to his years in Thailand, Scott was a Teacher at an International School in Korea. Scott holds a BA from McMaster University and a teaching degree from the University of Toronto.

Prior to starting the Gaurishankar English School (aka School on the Mountain), Surya Krishna Shrestha (School Principal, and Chairman of Org4Peace International Helpers (Called Organization for P.E.A.C.E.) in Nepal, used to run another school for underprivileged children. However, when the Maoists overthrew the government in Nepal in what is referred to as Nepal’s 12 year war, they proceeded to systematically shut down all educational institutions. The intimidation and violence successfully shut down many schools like Surya’s.
